eurocuisingA pack of yogurt from your local store isn’t the cheapest thing in the market today, especially depending on the brand. Why pay a few dollars every day for a yogurt when you can actually make your own and save? Buying your own ingredients and yogurt maker might sound costly but in the long run, once you have been making your own yogurt for months and years, you’ll find it actually cheaper and more efficient. Why? – Because you can buy and use a yogurt maker that only costs below $100.

The Best Non-Dairy Yogurt Makers For Vegans or Other Dietary Needs

epicaMany people choose to live their life in harmony with the nature. That means that they refuse to eat products which originate from animals. Some might find it hard to give up the tasty food they are so used to eating. But isn’t better if we try and find adequate substitution for them? Everything that you consume from animal origin can find its equivalent in the vegan menu. One of those things is the regular yogurt and the non-dairy yogurt. There are of course other, dietary reasons that some people cannot consume milk and therefore can’t make their own yogurt from it to consume at home. Non-dairy yogurt can be made from non-dairy milk. It can be milk derived from legume, nut, seed, grain, or coconut. This milk can be found in many shops or you can make it yourself. Same goes for the yogurt. However, it is always better to make as much of the products you can at home, as you can be sure of their composition. Making yogurt at home can be very easy if you have the right yogurt maker. We will present you the features of two of the best yogurt makers.

Euro Cuisine YM80

Euro Cuisine YM80 Yogurt Maker is a practical yogurt maker that can help you prepare your favourite yogurt any time you want. It has a small and round shape which can fit up to seven glass containers. The idea of the glass containers is to enable you to make different flavours at the same time. If you only want to make one flavour you can use a bigger container to make a larger quantity. The entire process of making the yogurt last between 6-8 hours. The maker has a timer which indicates how far the process is, and a switch button to turn on/off the unit. In addition it has a light that indicates when the unit is working. The glass jars can be washed in the dishwasher which makes this maker easy for cleaning and maintenance.

Epica Homemade Organic “Set and Go”

Epica Homemade Organic “Set and Go” is a perfect little appliance for everybody who has no previous experience in making yogurt. It is so easy to use, you will be amazed. It comes with a manual that shows you delicious fast recipes that can give you many ideas on how to experiment and make new flavours. It has seven glass jars that can help you make different yogurt at the same time. The final product will be thick, sweet and tart and delicious yogurts. All you have to do is put the ingredients inside the glass jar and set the timer. The optimal time for preparation of the most of the yogurts is between 6-12 hours. Leave the maker to do the job for you and come back after everything is finish to try the best yogurt you have ever had.

Both makers work on the same principle and they will help you make perfectly tasty non-dairy yogurt. Make sure to have all the ingredients you need and in a matter of hours you will have freshly made yogurt. The best thing is that you  can be sure it is made of completely non-dairy ingredients

Epica Electric Yogurt Maker Review

epicaBuying and eating store-bought yogurt can be a pain: in addition to being fairly expensive, these yogurts are always chock full of sugars and artificial ingredients, negating a good deal of the health benefits that are the very reason we buy yogurt in the first place. So what’s a girl to do? I recently came across some articles discussing the health (and cost) benefits of making your own yogurt. I was intrigued, but after seeing that the process can take up to twenty hours depending on the recipe, I was dismayed. I did try to make my own batch three times without an electric maker but got very discouraged: I never got the consistency I wanted and it was a real pain to heat the milk and maintain multiple different temperatures for a very specific set of time. When my yogurt came out and tasted a little below average, I disappointed to have wasted so much time. I was still interested in the health benefits of homemade yogurt, however, so I decided to give the Epica Electric Yogurt Maker a try.

Epica Yogurt Maker

This yogurt maker comes with seven 6-ounce jars so you can make multiple flavors at once and your serving sizes are already placed conveniently in their own jars. The timer on the lid of the maker can be set anywhere between six and twelve hours so you can set the “cook” time to match your desired yogurt consistency. Using the electric yogurt maker ensures that your yogurt will always be at the right temperature and required settings for perfect and healthy yogurt. There’s no need to constantly check on your yogurt’s progress – let the electric maker take care of it all!

Summary of Features:

  • 4.5/5 star average review on Amazon
  • Works in 6-12 hours
  • Seven jars to make different flavors and variations
  • Three year warranty from the manufacturer
  • Designed to stay at the perfect temperature for making yogurt
  • Works with milk that requires no pre-boiling (making this one of the easiest to use yogurt makers going)

My first batch came out perfect, better than store-bought yogurt, and it could not have been easier to make! Preparing the batch for the maker took less than ten minutes, such a difference from the hour I spent trying to make mine by hand. All I had to do was boil the milk, stir in the starter culture after the milk cooled, and filled the jars. The instruction manual was a dream for a first-timer and was much clearer and easier to follow than some of the make-by-hand recipes I had been finding on the Internet. I made it after dinner and by the time I woke up the next morning I had fresh yogurt ready to go! I was shocked when I tasted it – that was real yogurt. It made me really appreciate how full the store-bought yogurts are of artificial flavors. When I became more comfortable with the electric maker I began experimenting with different flavors and I could not be happier. One gallon of milk will make three batches (or twenty-one jars) of the yogurt so you can experiment with countless variations of flavor.

The maker itself weighs less than four pounds and is less than nine-and-a-half inches in diameter, which makes it the perfect size to either sit on your counter and not take up much space or store in a cabinet to easily pull out whenever it is needed. In addition to the instruction manual, the yogurt maker also comes with a variety of ingredients to guide you and let me tell you, they are delicious! The yogurt jars are all dishwasher-safe, making cleanup even easier (if that’s possible) and if you break a jar you can easily replace it with a baby food jar or something of similar size. I would absolutely recommend this product to anybody looking to find a healthier, cheaper solution to store-bought yogurt but does not want to devote hours to making their own.
